The Children & Nature Network is inspiring the global movement to increase equitable access to nature so that children - and natural places - can thrive.

The C&NN International Leadership Summit will engage 400 people in productive working sessions in six action areas: Green Schoolyards, City Government, Next Generation Leadership, Grassroots Leaders, Healthcare Providers, Nature-based Learning Research. Summit participants will work over two days to develop shared goals, action agendas and explore methods for measuring progress in their Action Areas.

Since you are participating in a specific Action Area, your schedule will be completed for you-- this means that you will not need to sign up for any Summit sessions in Sched. By the beginning of May, we will link your Sched profile to your Action Area.

Lois A. Brink, M.L.A. (Master of Landscape Arch.), B.A. (Environmental Design), University of Pennsylvania, is a landscape architect and tenured professor at the University of Colorado. She is the principal leader in Denver Public Schools’ Learning Landscapes project, a $50 million design and construction initiative that in 2012 completed 96 elementary schoolyards after a 12-year build out.
Professor Brink’s knowledge and experience of playground development—coupled with her 30 years as a landscape architect—is critical to other similar initiatives. A faculty member at the University of Colorado for 25 years, she has been Director of Learning Landscapes for twelve years. Learning Landscapes is an innovative schoolyard redevelopment program with a threefold mission: 1) design and construct environments for healthy living; 2) empower children and communities through school and after-school activities, community organizing, healthy eating and active living, and 3) evaluate and research these activities in a comprehensive manner.
